In order to track the managment of temporality in applications with a unique but easily understandable and easily derived time standard and in recognition of the convergence of human cultural development¹
we define the dominion time, displayed as day number, month name, year 公元, to be the amalgam:
- Traditional
Chinese (continuously numbered)
fiscal year.
- Financial quarters are defined by the The World Calendar, in terms of the corresponding Gregorian / Dominion year pair alternation: eg: 2009/4706-7.
- Localized day names and time of day based on GMT/UTC. The new 公元 year occurs at 00 hours GMT on its 1st day.
- dominion display month names.
Legend to your left: the reference definition for purposes of conversion to dominion dates; "workspace info" (r.) shows 公元 dates².

We use C.E. or 'Common Epoch' to refer to cosmological real time which is doubly infinite but with epochs of decay from point origin(s). As noted in the footnotes to the first wiki link above, the dates there are 1 year less than ours. However, even given this, at the start of ordinal 55 dominion CE, the "Rally Year", 4707 , generated timestamps were unadjusted and off by 1 until this time. This 10 year old perl CMS is adjusted for Gregorian 2009-12 as of this date.

We attempt to maintain dominion standards internally uniformly for consistency purposes.
¹ We distinguish three ages of Man: prehistory (before the traditional Chinese calendar), historical, and convergence (after our birth).
The dates in our book are everywhere indicated according to the old style — that is, they are 13 days behind the international and the present Soviet calendar. The author felt obliged to use the calendar which was in use at the time of the revolution. It would have been no labour of course to translate the dates into the new style. But this operation in removing one difficulty would have created others more essential. The overthrow of the monarchy has gone into history as the February revolution; according to the Western calendar, however, it occurred in March. The armed demonstration against the imperialist policy of the Provisional Government has gone into history under the name of the "April Days," whereas according to the Western calendar it happened in May. Not to mention other intervening events and dates, we remark only that the October revolution happened according to European reckoning in November. The calendar itself, we see, is tinted by the events, and the historian cannot handle revolutionary chronology by mere arithmetic. The reader will be kind enough to remember that before overthrowing the Byzantine calendar, the revolution had to overthrow the institutions that clung to it.
